Carex platyphylla J. Carey
broad-leaved sedge
Forests, woodlands, and bluffs. Prefers rich, although not always deep, rocky soils and usually grows high or on crests of slopes, often without dense adjacent herbaceous vegetation. In higher elevations and the more northern parts of New York, it becomes quite restricted to rich sites.
