trailing arbutus, mayflower
Dry to mesic acidic hardwood or hemlock-hardwood forests often in a association with Vaccinium and Gaylussacia spp. Also in areas with less of a tree canopy cover. This species does particularly well on edges of dirt or logging roads through forests on acidic soils.
