Quercus prinoides Willd.

Pine and other barrens, rocky summits, opening in woodlands, and utility rights-of way. Often on upper slopes, crests, and hilltops in dry acidic thin, sandy, or rocky soils. Occurs in very similar habitat to Q. ilicifolia but is less common and populations are often not very abundant.
