Characteristics
Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.
common ragweed
A very weedy native species. Cultivated ground, roadsides, waste places, barnyards, thin dry exposed soils of rocky or forest opening, seasonally exposed cobble bars in streams. Along roads this plant can be quite thick, although dwarfed, and grows very close to edge of the tarmac. In native habitats it usually does not get as tall and robust as in cultivated ground.
