Lowrie’s aster

Brouillet et al. (2006) states that the type of the basionym is conspecific with S. cordifolium and they do not recognize S. lowrieanum. They state that most specimens identified as S. lowrieanum are S. cordifolium although some appear to be the hybrid between S. cordifolium and S. laeve var. laeve. Symphyotrichum lowrieanum is maintained until further evidence is presented.
