Characteristics
Impatiens pallida Nutt.
pale jewelweed, pale touch-me-not
Floodplain forests, wet forests, seepage areas, swamps, marshes, fens, stream banks, thickets, disturbed areas, shaded roadsides and trail edges, and ditches. Similar habitat to I. capensis and sometimes occurring together but not as common in at least parts of NY. It perhaps prefers more calcareous soils. Like I. capensis it can form dense large patches.
