Carex crinita Lam. var. crinita
common fringed sedge
Marshes, wet areas in forests, seepages, marshy edges of small streams and ponds, wet fields and pastures, and wet ditches. A very common wetland sedge except perhaps in northern New York. In comparison to C. gynandra, it is perhaps a little less weedy and grows in acidic to basic soils.
